I just really hope neither company (Sony or MS) tries to penny pinch and release severely limited system eg with a mid range graphics card from the last generation which is what the rumours are at the moment i believe.

Consoles need to be on the absolute bleeding edge when they come out as they are around for so freakin long!!

PS4 is rumored to have Llano A8-3870K with HD6670 discrete. Xbox next will be even worse since it's a 4C/16T CPU with HD6670.

In all honestly by Q4 2013/Q1 2014, it wouldn't be unreasonable to fit a mobile version of HD7850 (HD7970M) or GTX670 mobile. But looks like MS and Sony are following Nintendo and trying to even make $ on the hardware, which means penny pinching.

This was an interesting article about the PS4:

Didn't really follow it all but seemed like Charlie was pretty excited about the potential.

This is a bit more like it:

I was still hoping for 100GHz Graphene cores but i guess that will be in the Galaxy S4.
