"Surface sports a full-sized USB port and a 16:9 aspect ratio of the screen, which is more advanced than 4:3 aspect ratio of Apple iPad."

As much as I'm excited about these, I wouldn't say that 16:9 is "more advanced" than a 4:3 aspect ratio. 16:9 is too thin in portrait mode. Wide aspect ratios may be commonplace for movies, but movies are just one medium that is viewed on these devices--and even then, hardly the majority of the time for most folks.

It really makes no sense to complain about 16:9. With monitors if 22" 16:9 monitor has too short height for you, you could just pick the next size: 23", 24", etc.

Anyway with tablets, since there are many choices. 16:9 isn't the best option. 16:10 might be better... but maybe... just maybe 4:3 is the best. Because there is only one really successful tablet line and it is 4:3.

Pick a bigger size... and then have a tablet that is both too big and still too narrow? It's like saying "if that door in your house is not wide enough, just get a taller door" (if doors came only in proportional sizes). 16:9 is just awkward in portrait mode.
