I don't see any clear advantages of using the NT core as opposed to the FreeBSD kernel of iOS or the Linux kernel of Android (and MeeGo) as long as it runs on ARM processors. Having the NT core on x86 would have the advantage of ISA and API compatibility with the desktop and laptop ecosystem. Just look at how Windows RT (Windows on ARM) is shaping up to be a disaster: HP has defected, and no other major OEM is showing any interest in the platform. Windows is to put it shortly not that much of a boon for anyone without its large legacy codebase and developer community.
