Well it doesn't only aply to virus attacks it is just as relevant in a server. Most vulnerabillities in servers a related to buffer overrun exploit. This should make a opteron much more attractive compared to other alternatives. It means that the endless stream of pathes will be less endless. Very nice feature!

This looks like good stuff if it really is successful in preventing people from smashing the stack. I do not like "La Grande" however. It isn't simply security that stimulated its creation. Digital Copy Protection did. Yet another reason to buy AMD instead of Intel: freedom to execute the code you want to, not just the code Microshaft has stamped OK.
