I agree that this board is almost perfect for the mainstream user. My only gripe, as one who uses his PC a lot as a source for music, is that Asus has skimped too much on the integrated audio. The Realtek ALC887 is a bit too low on the totem pole.

Of course, one can use an add-in card, but why not include better integrated audio? This would cost very little more to Asus.

I have the Realtek ALC 889 chip on my Gigabyte board (top of the line when I bought the mobo last year), and it is perfectly satisfactory, so that I don't feel the need to spend money on a discrete card
