As much as I love my Core i7 system, and my heavily overclocked Fermi cards last generation, you hardcore Intel and NV fanboys are the worst kind after Apple. Probably the same tools that bought Pentium 4s and the garbage FX5000 and GeForce 7 series.
Without AMD, the progress for CPU and GPU speed will slow down and over time prices will rise and/or we will get slower pace of releases for newer products. It actually already has slowed down for Intel as they used to be a lot more innovative up to Lynnfield/Nehalem. Since then we have hardly gotten much if any CPU increases from Core i7 @ 4.2ghz days.
It's pathetic that you are actually wishing for AMD to fail.
Why don't you put up your GTX690 against HD7970 CF at higher resolutions and see what happens?

It's really sad that when AMD legitimately delivered the superior GPU series since X1950XTX, NV fanboys still won't admit it.
You can LOL all you want like an 18 year old boy you probably are but when GTX980 is $800, the only one laughing will be the CEO of Nvidia.
