I bought my T2P in April 04 in the UK and at that time I found it represented good value for the money. I didn't go for the WIFI in the PCI slot and settled for an Nvidia FX4400 AGP8 which may not be brilliant but does allow me to play some of the later games . System is supported by a 2.8G P4 @ 800FSB. I only have 512 DDR 3200 memory in one of the slots and the whole thing powered with Windows XP SP2. I am hooked up to Blueyonder broadband internet and can do most of what I want. OK, I admit the streaming video leaves a bit to be desired but I think this is mostly to do with my internet bandwidth.
I do agree with the review about noise on the radio which I also experience on software driven DVD playback. However, I discovered that when I mute the AUX on the sound controls it cleans up the DVD video sound but is also turning the radio sound off? I have no idea why but it works for me.
I saw one review which criticises the T2P for not having a reset button. I have managed to lock my system a few times but I discovered by holding the power button depressed for about 5 seconds, this forces a complete reboot.
Finally, I keep my updates as hot as possible but was somewhat worried when I saw that ASUS had a BIOS update on their website. I bit the bullet and used the ASUS update utility. I consider I can read a dialogue box ok, but somehow I didn't get things quite right. However, after a reboot and a systems check I was rewarded with confirmation that I now have the latest BIOS installed.
Quickbrew in the UK.
