For all the flak Sony took, they obviously did the right thing with the PS/3.

The most important impact is now being forgotten, it helped them make blu-ray the dominant standard, even at the expense of selling fewer PS/3 units to the public.

Now it turns out they did not lose too many sales anyway, since the PS/3 was released after the X-Box 360, and will probably surpass it in sales.

All-in-all, this unit which everyone was decrying as too expensive, or too this or that, has turned out very well for Sony.

If we actually account for RROD and how many users had to repurchase their 360s, PS3 has outsold the 360 a while ago. PS3 has a lot more exclusives and better games in the tail end of this generation which is allowing PS3 to catch up easily despite launching 1 year later, at much higher prices.

If Sony continues with its great 3rd party support, doesn't require an annual online subscription for media services like Netflix and online gaming, and prices PS4 at more aggressive $349-399, they could do much better next generation. If they use x86 CPU, development should be a lot easier than the Cell which was a poor processor choice.

Your comments are getting too predictable. $300 for a next generation PS4 would be cheap actually, if it continues to have free online play/Netflix and has good exclusives like PS3 did. Besides, no one forces you to buy a next generation console right away. You also have at least 1 year to start saving for them. You say PSN sucks but $50 Xbox Live over 6-7 years is a lot of games one could have bought for a competing console. Some people don't feel that Xbox Life is worth the cost either.

You keep saying "Company ABC" only cares to make $. You think Microsoft, Intel or Nvidia are somehow different from AMD, Sony and Nintendo? What a troll!

AMD scoring 3 consoles won't do AMD ANY GOOD Whatsoever. AMD is going to die in 2014 because of Rory Read among a bunch of other things.
