1. 
The J series Shuttle accepts mITX boards. Pricey with a 500W 80 Bronze PSU it powers my Asus P8Z77 I-Deluxe board, no problem. People question Shuttle Motherboards quality; their cases and PSU's are a step above IMO.

something that i see often that really needs to be corrected.

slim-drives uses miniSATA cables.
not mSATA.
they are 2 totally different interfaces.

google mSATA and miniSATA. its simple as that.
