I like how Scott Herkelman talks about the card, like most gamers can just walk in a supermarket and get this beast

Aside of that, nice card, but a niche product anyway.

nVidia is funny. And all the people that are going to buy something that its value is overrated 200% of normal are going to be funnier.

Or perhaps people with specific needs that you don't comprehend.

I do CUDA/OpenCL development at work (most recently a print pipeline for a 50 billion pixel/sec digital press), and I like to have a state of the art GPU of my own for playing around and learning.

The fact that the Titan has most of the compute features of the K20 (unlocked FP64, dynamic parallelism, etc) makes it an incredible bargain for somebody like me. There isn't anything else available with equivalent capabilities for less than $3500.

I am NVIDIA's target customer for this board. You are not. It's that simple.

The funny thing is that this Titan cost exactly as the 690 dual GPU card. LOL. nVidia marketing at its fain(l)est...
PS: 2x7970 cards costs less than this card )

the best bang for the buck at the high end is two HD 7950s or possibly SLI GTX 670s. At $550, that's nearly half the price of a Titan at 90% of the performance. 6GB of RAM and 2x384 or 2x256 bit bandwidth.

AMDs fps numbers are overstated. They figured out a trick to make runt frames, or frames which are not actually rendered to trigger the fps monitor as a real fully rendered frame. This is real problem for AMD much worse than the latency problem. Crossfire is a disaster which is why numerous reviewers including Tech Report have written that Crossfire produces higher fps but feels less smooth than Nvidia.
