I've got to be frank - this isn't new or ground breaking tech. But it looks like the first time it has been employed in a hybrid.

I wonder how AMD will get the increase in performance. I mean more than likely they will add more RAM and another battery. But now that most of the components are in the tablet could AMD possibly put in a second GPU like the HD8570m?

I suspect that the increase will come from increased frequency of the APU. When you have additional batter you can get more speed by increasing frequency of both CPU and GPU.

hehe. More batter. Yum.

Exactly what a laptop does with ACPI. It's nothing new.

What's new is AMD is creating new revenue streams in the portable market. It's all good.

Yes, it is really great AMD is able to get into ultra portables. When Dirk Meyer was fired in 2010, I didn't believe AMD could manoeuvre so fast into tablets. Things are looking up for AMD. If only the US and Europe could find a political solution to their economic woes so more money could flow around the system for more discretionary spending on such products. The politicians in these regions are letting the world down big time (US Republicans and Germans - stimulate damn it: Keynesian economics 101).

All they need is a manufaturer with actual volume.
