"Microsoft started to sell its Surface RT tablet in late October, 2012, whereas the Surface Pro only hit the market in February, 2012."
The dates are not correct. Surface pro was released after.

I agree that with the Epic Fail for Windows 8 for the PC platform. Tablet is a cool idea/touch screen crap. But for their next OS(if they are around), I REALLY WISH and HOPE that us, the more power users can actually easily edit the OS's GUI to however we want to do so. E.G. Microsoft take a look at linux ubuntu!! Please! till then Windows 7, 64 bit OS is what is running on my pc rigs...

About twice the price it should be to succeed - that was the main failing.

This looks like a case of once bitten twice shy by the ARM brigade and the OEM manufactures.
They have all experience the wrath of the Wintel cartel, seen what happened to the non-compliant manufacture, seen the number and vibrancy of the x86 chip makers decimated till the is only One dominate player and a lame duck left. Seen the same thing happening in the Video market and now it looks like Intel are hell bent in destroying this segment as well all with the blessing of M/S. Is it any wonder that no-one wants to touch Win 8 RT.
Looking at the PC market Win 8 is on the nose with OEM and Joe public as well. The leader in the PC market to business (Lenovo) does not sell Win 8 to the commercial sector, if one asks they will install it and modify it to start directly into the desk-top.

Interesting article, just few days ago i was thinking how big of a deal is windows RT cus it made big mainstream company like Microsoft see ARM as a big arhitecture in future or today for a matter of fact. The story of RT is not about Microsoft its about ARM. Its here to stay.
