Microsoft Windows 10 Set to Be Company’s First Cloud Operating System – Rumour.
As a Linux installer, I recommend Xubuntu for new users. It's Ubuntu, without the Unity interface. All the Ubuntu goodness with the support for Hardware and the Software Center.
I'm using a Creative Recon3D sound card, a Radeon HD 7950 graphics card, and a Bitcoin Jalapeno exotic peripheral without problem. Furthermore, every printer I have ever connected to the machine works without needing to install any drivers at all. Even further, unlike Windows, I didn't even have to install drivers for my motherboard or any other device.
Linux supports far more hardware and software than Windows and the rate at which this evolves is so significant that many drastic changes can happen within six months, improving the quality of life of Linux.
Finally, even if a game isn't ported on Linux, Steam has been designed to run efficiently in Wine and with the recent CSMT patch a week ago for Wine, many games are running 50-500% faster, sometimes even faster than running the same game in Windows. Wine development, like all open source software, is exponentially increasing as well.
1.unified OS(wp8+winRT)-nice step
2.brand-new operating systems every year-nice
3.cloud(web)-based OS -Best tool for real-time NSA spying that's why i will never use google chromebook.
The truth is, as shown very clearly by the rise of mobile, is that the "OS" and the GUI are all but irrelevant, beyond personal preference. There are many ways to get any particular task done, regardless of "operating system" or GUI or "app"lication. Mobile has shown us that Windows is not worth paying for and is far from being a perfect solution. Windows 7 was hardly more than a glossy re-skin of XP and was only "successful" due to being the default "choice" of the uniformed masses. Windows 8 and Windows 8 Phone fail because there is no significant advantage of other GUIs and they are ugly to most users eyes, or at least uglier than Android/iOS/OSX/Win7. Personally I use Android (Linux fork) and Linux Mint and find no significant usage or task achievement issues with either; and they are both free of charge.
If "privacy" is truly and concern, then you will need to develop Linux based skills, use obscure minority tools and abandon M$ forever.
1.after NSA showdown everyone knows that every american firm is spying for them and google, microsoft is on top so how u can think intelligent people will use web OS, even people migrating their emil to non US based mail providers(including myself).
2.it will work only in developed countries where countries like china(2nd biggest economy),india(3rd biggest economy) internet speed is very slow according to data in india 90% of internet connections is below 1Mbps.
3.Hacking-here is the real twist, remember luv bug virus affected whole world made by a teen.i also developed some code in past and it will take 4-5 years for me to hack a server so u can understand how much it will take for a professional hacker.MS even can't imagine what will happen... whole world will be in hackers hand from history to bank detail nothing will be safe.if today our system hacks what best we can do is formatting our computer and fresh OS install but what will happen when whole web based os will be hacked.....can't imagine
this web os hacking will cost loss of trillions of dollar as everyone uses microsoft OS.
My best advise is- give people a choice whether they want to use web based OS or not... make two OS one is web based other is conventional.
Guys, don't read into it that much.
I bet it's just gonna have better cloud integration out of the box and thats it.
Windoze = inferior, defective O/S used to rape consumers
Cloud = dumbness for 99.9% of the world
A new Microsucks O/S every year means you will PAY for Microsucks mistakes instead of getting free updates to correct them
Linux has a LOT of consumer potential if the developers would get off their collective arses and deliver:
1. A proper self-installing edition with all of the correct drivers
2. Proper Linux software existed so that consumers could migrate their existing Windoze systems to Linux and properly import all of their existing data such as for businesses
3. Linux distro sellers provided proper support for their products instead of saying they don't know what drivers are required for basic PC hardware.
I have tried NUMEROUS times to migrate my Biz to Linux and Suse and the other Linux distros I have tried are a royal PITA unless you are a geek or want to spend a lot of time learning Linux. If they really want to cash in with Linux they need to make it USER FRIENDLY. I don't have the time or interest to spend figuring out how to configure a basic O/S when my billable rate is $300/hr.
I've been building and maintaining my own PCs and systems for 20+ years and I have yet to find a Linux distro that provides the above needs of small to medium sized businesses.
I personally hope that Microsucks puts themselves out of business thru their own stupidity as they have defrauded the world for over 20 years. This is a golden opportunity for the Linux folks if they get off their arses and take advantage of it.
And what about Windows 11? Will that have an interface that can be controlled by farting?
1.) Professionals who use PCs daily type a lot. They don't need fancy touch based gimmicks. They need the system to behave consistently without hampering their productivity.
2.) Don't try to fix what's not broken. Most of the folks using WinXP/Win7 were pretty happy with the way it looked and the functionality it provided. (Start menu, Aero, stability etc.)
3.) If you want to fight so hard with the likes of Apple or Google, then borrow a step from them and develop a dedicated mobile platform. Don't try to combine different input paradigms. That's a lose-lose scenario.
4.) I would be pretty happy with buying an OS for a fixed price and paying extra for additional feature packs or services. Again, don't try to rape the populous, try to offer them something extra and you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised by the result.
also they might say that rarley happens, it happens alot to people, not having a connection or a server being down, the fact is it happens and its a pain when it does.
microsft is copy to chrome os
