Don't forget the XGI Volari cards (rarely see them in shops though). Matrox suck in my perspective as a gamer, but is nice for using auto CAD with multiple displays.
I also tend to disagree slightly with ATI skipping Shader Model 3.0 altogether. I imagine they will trump nVidia with a Shader Model 3.1 (R520), like they are fooling around with 2.0b right now (R420, R480).
Meanwhile nVidia is buying up games so they use SM3.0... ATI cannot afford to skip this for 1,5 years, early 2006, when Shader Model 4.0 (Unified Pixel and Vertex Shaders) are to be introduced (R600).
