It's because of the crappy songs and not because of downloads. The recording industry think the consumers are stupid and is offering them bad songs and bad albums. Well the little consumer isn't stupid and he just stops buying music...

Meir is right, but it is also the way they count album sales based upon single downloads. It takes 10 single downloads to count as an album sale. If would realize that with single downloads people are buying what they want and a better actual count would be all downloads for a specific album should count as an ablum sale. Which means that 10 single downloads could actually mean 10 album sales. But they just don't get it do they? Plus crappy music helps kill music sales faster than downloads of any type. Get now!

You'd think somewhere along the way someone would realize this is because in 1996 people only bought albums because that was the only way to get that one song that you heard played on the radio over and over and over and over and over. Now people don't have to buy an enitre album to get a "one-hit-wonder's" single.
