In response to Really Confused,
Most enthusiasts who overclock their hardware do it as a hobby. We know that overclocking the latest and greatest processor from 3 GHz to 3.304 GHz isn't going to make any process execute noticeably faster. Normally it's done for bragging rights or as a contest. Like, "Hey! I bet I can get my new Amtel Megalon Hexacore 6000+ to benchmark higher than yours!". "Alright, you're on!!". It's just a hobby. For me and all of my buddies anyway. Not everyone overclocks for the performance. Although, just knowing the extra performance is there (noticeably or otherwise) is heartening. :]]
