On the 9th of April we reported that Supermicro company intends to launch AMD Opteron-based server platforms. Today we were contacted by a Supermicro official who told us that the information is incorrect and that Supermicro only deals with Intel-based servers.

Supermicro said today that it supported Intel processors and had no intentions of going with any solutions supporting AMD CPUs.

Well, we will find out who really supports AMD Opteron processors and who does not in a week time.
