Intel to Disclose Peculiarities of Next-Generation Processors at IDF.Intel to Reveal Details About Future Chips This MonthCategory: CPU by Anton Shilov [ 08/15/2005 | 09:05 PM ]
Intel Corp. will reveal details concerning the company’s next-generation central processing unit architecture at its upcoming Intel Developer Forum, various media sources report. Intel’s list of planned session does not include any special panels concerning the next-gen architecture, however, they seem to cover certain peculiarities of future chips.
The new chips will start to emerge in the second half of 2006 and sport, among other attributes, greater energy efficiency and better manageability. The chips are code-named Merom (for notebooks), It is expected that Paul Otellini will reveal the details about the mentioned processors during opening of the IDF on Earlier this year Intel confirmed that processors code-named Merom, Intel representatives did not comment on the news-story.
