Intel announced another microprocessor with lowered voltage for ultra-thin platforms and communication devices. The novelty is another Low Voltage Pentium III 933MHz packaged in brand-new uFCBGA chip.

The new CPU can be used in single- or dual-processor configurations with NetStructure ZT 5524 mainboard. The mentioned mainboard meets PCI Industrial Manufacturers Group (PICMG) 2.16 specifications and is intended for use in communications servers, different broadband appliances, switches, mobile base station controllers. as well as in numerous commutators and other similar devices.

According to the company, the he Low Voltage Pentium III processor has a maximum power dissipation of 12.2W. The Low Voltage Pentium III processor contains 512-KB of L2 cache and utilises 133-MHz system bus. It is available for $273 in 1000 unit quantities. The ZT 5524 is available from Intel for $2,695.
