Intel announced dates and venues when and where their Intel Developer Forum will take place in the first half this year. During the recent years, Intel Developer Forum became the most interesting and exciting event in the IT industry.

The worldwide Intel Developer Forum (IDF), semi-annual showcase for hardware and software developers, kicks off the “Spring 2003” circuit next month in San Jose, California. The five international conferences, all to be staged in April, include a new host city to the IDF program: Berlin. Spanning Western Europe, the Far East, Asian subcontinent and the United States, the six upcoming IDFs will bring together developers and the newest technology and vision from Intel and other industry leaders.

The IDF Spring 2003 schedule looks as follows:

  • San Jose, USA, February 18-21;
  • Tokyo, Japan, April 9-11;
  • Taipei, Taiwan, April 14-15;
  • Beijing, China, April 17-18;
  • Bangalore, India, April 22-23;
  • Berlin, Germany, April 28-30.

First up is the four-day conference at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. The event will include 170 hours of sessions and labs, nearly 200 hours of technical content in all covering clients, servers, software, communications, public policy and other areas of interest. A wide range of technologies will be addressed, including HyperThreading, PCI Express, wireless innovations, security advances and mobile and modular platforms. Attendees will also receive essential information on the latest on Pentium 4 and Itanium-based platforms, Intel Internet Exchange Architecture, Intel Personal Internet Client Architecture and Intel's research and development labs.

Intel Chief Executive Officer Craig Barrett will deliver the Feb. 18 opening keynote, discussing corporate strategy related to the convergence of computing and communications, as well as silicon integration and solutions. Keynotes over the following three days will cover Internet clients (desktop, mobile and handheld), Wednesday; communications infrastructure and the enterprise, Thursday; and research and development, Friday.

Golden Sponsors of the USA event are Analog Devices, HP and Rambus (hey, I know this company!), ATI Technologies, Hitachi, Infineon Technologies Corporation, Samsung, Seagate, ServerWorks and SuperMicro are Silver Sponsors.

We will tell you more about the upcoming event later.
