We again can share with you some pretty interesting news about future plans of the most successful CPU supplier for desktop computers. As some sources revealed, Intel will launch its 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus supporting processors and platforms in the second half of April.

The family of Intel Pentium 4 CPUs with newer and faster Quad Pumped Bus will initially contain 5 models: with 2.40, 2.60, 2.80, 3.0 and 3.20GHz core-clocks. The 3.40GHz Pentium 4 “Northwood” processor will appear later this year and will become the last and final Northwood microprocessor. At the same time with the 3.40GHz Northwood chip, Intel will unveil its 3.20, 3.40GHz and possibly even faster Prescott processors. As for chipsets, there will be the i875P, i865PE and i865G products to support the upcoming 800MHz QPB enabled CPUs. All three due in the second half of April and support Prescott, at least, earlier this year Intel wanted their partners to ensure that 2003 platforms are ready for Prescott.
