Intel Launches Celeron 2.30 and 2.40GHz Processors.

They are Now Legal and Official

Intel today officially introduced its Celeron processors at 2.40 and 2.30GHz that were seen for sale in Japan this weekend (see this news-story). Based on Intel's 0.13 micron process technology, the processors utilize Socket 478 package, feature 400MHz Quad Pumped Bus and 128KB of L2 cache.

In 1000-unit quantities, the desktop Intel Celeron processor at 2.40GHz is priced at $127 and the 2.30GHz is priced at $117. I remind you that the Celeron 2.20GHz costs $103, the 2.10GHz version is priced at $89, the 2.0GHz chips are sold for $83 per unit, while the lowest-end models at 1.80 and 1.70GHz based on the 0.18 micron Willamette-128 core are priced at $69 and $54 respectively.
