While we are almost sure that JEDEC will definitely adopt PC3200 with ECC support memory standard for servers and workstations (especially after Intel decided to use 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus for Xeon chips), I am now also convinced that that AMD Opteron processors are also able to work with memory at 400MHz.
Since AMD Athlon 64 and Opteron CPUs are practically identical except support for multi-processor servers, I believe they can have a similar memory controller as well. It means that AMD CPUs intended for higher-end servers and workstations may also support DDR SDRAM at 400MHz, but AMD does not declare it at this point because there is no PC3200 with ECC standard.
Expect AMD to officially announce PC3200 support by Opteron CPUs after JEDEC sets the official standard.
