Intel Corporation is expected to unveil its new Xeon microprocessor for 2-way servers and workstations next Monday, unofficial sources said today. The new Xeon DP CPU will have 1MB of L3 cache and will be clocked at 3.20GHz. Its introduction at $851 price-point will not be followed by price reduction of the whole Intel Xeon DP lineup, since no Xeon DP price moves planned through Q1 2004.
<%BANNER[article]%>The new Intel Xeon 1M processor at 3.20GHz will be compatible with existing Intel Xeon DP platforms that have 533MHz Quad Pumped Bus PSB – E7501 for servers and E7505 for workstations – the chip giant revealed recently.
