Sources with knowledge of the matter concerning AMD’s plans have reported about a new version of AMD Athlon 64 processor to be ramped up pretty soon. The new processor will have an improved memory controller to address certain issues and enhance its flexibility.
<%BANNER[article]%>A source wished to remain anonymous said in a conversation during the weekend about a new revision of AMD Athlon 64 processor in Socket 754 packaging coming into production “extremely soon”. The informer claimed about certain changes implemented to improve memory controller. Reportedly, some of the changes add more flexibility of memory configurations consisting of 3 DIMMs.
