Triplex Electronics recently announced its REDai 9600 PRO graphics card with bunch of very interesting features and capabilities, including VIVO and Wireless TV-Out upgrade kits. Besides, RADEON 9600 PRO-based graphics cards from Triplex is made using a PCB coated with silver, this is an almost proprietary feature of graphics cards from this manufacturer.

Certainly it is pretty easy to guess that the REDai 9600 PRO is based on the ATI RADEON 9600 PRO graphics processor and is equipped with 128MB of DDR SDRAM 2.8ns memory from Samsung. Although the core and memory speeds of the card are exactly at the level of ATI Technologies’ recommendations, REDai is still a unique product. The graphics cards boasts with a very interesting cooling solution and has silver coating. According to Triplex, PCB with silver coating has greater heat dissipation compared to traditional PCBs, in addition to 20-47% less EMI interference. Additionally, Triplex REDai 9600 PRO utilises Sanyo OS-CON capacitors with low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) to increase VPU and RAM voltage stability when operating at high frequencies.

However, the main advantage of the REDai 9600 PRO is in its VIVO and Wireless TV-Out upgrade kits.

Triplex claims that REDai 9600 PRO utilises a third-party VIVO chip to capture video. This is not a Rage Theater 200 from ATI Technologies and at this point I do not know which chip is used. As a result, the VIVO upgrade seems to be a completely standalone solution that will also be able to work with NVIDIA GeForce FX-based graphics cards from Triplex.

Another upgrade kit is Triplex Wireless TV-Out. The device uses Radio Frequency in the frequency band between 2.40 and 2.4835GHz. The transmission range is 300 feet clear line of sight that should be enough to connect a PC to a TV without coping with various cables. Nevertheless, make sure you are satisfied with the quality provided with such solution.

Triplex REDai 9600 PRO as well as its upgrade kits will be available in July. Pricing may vary.
