We managed to get yet another portion of details in regards the upcoming mainboards for Intel and AMD processors. This time I am going to share the information concerning EPoX mainboards based on Intel Springdale and Canterwood chipsets, NVIDIA’s nForce2 platform processors and VIA core-logic products.

Take a look at mainboards EPoX is going to offer for Intel Pentium 4 CPUs in the Q2 and the Q3:

  • EP-4PCA3+: i875P MCH; ICH5R; 400/533/800MHz QPB; 4 DIMM slots for up to 4GB of PC2100/PC2700 or PC3200 (DDR400) memory; dual-channel memory bus support: memory modules used should be identical and installed in pairs; AGP 8x, 5 PCI slots; 2-channel ATA-33/66/100; 2-channel Serial ATA-150 controller (ICH5R) with RAID 0 support; HPT 374 RAID controller provides 4 additional ATA-33/66/100/133 ports with RAID 0, 1, 0+1 support; 10/100/1000Mb/s Ethernet controller from Broadcom; 6-channel AC'97 sound; USB 2.0; FireWire; ATX. Mass production to start in the second quarter this year.

The company will also start selling a number of its new Socket A mainboards. What is pretty interesting to note is that EPoX plans to launch a VIA KT400A-based mainboard, however, VIA KT600 powered product was not indicated by the source. Maybe the company does not plan the KT600 device currently simply because it has not received appropriate samples from VIA? We will try to find it out soon.

Mass production to start in the second quarter.
  • EP-8RDA3+: NVIDIA nForce2 SPP + MCP; 200/266/333MHz FSB; 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB of PC2100, PC2700 or PC3200 (DDR400) memory; dual-channel memory bus support: memory modules used should be identical and installed in pairs; AGP 8x, 5 PCI slots; 2-channel ATA-33/66/100/133; 2 Serial ATA-150 ports; 4 USB 2.0 ports; FireWire; 6-channek audio; ATX. Mass production to start in late first or late second quarter.

There will be a number of products for Socket 754 Athlon 64 processors in the third quarter this year:

  • EP-8KDA2I/+: NVIDIA CK8; 2 DIMM slots for PC2100 or PC2700 memory; AGP 8x, 5 PCI slots; 2-channel ATA-33/66/100/133; optional Serial ATA-150 support; optional 6 USB 2.0 ports; 10/100Mb/s Ethernet controller; ATX. Mass production to start in the third quarter.
  • EP-8HTA2+: VIA K8T400M + VT8235; 2 DIMM slots for PC2100 or PC2700 memory; AGP 8x, 6 PCI slots; 2-channel ATA-33/66/100/133; 2 Serial ATA-150 ports; 4 USB 2.0 ports; 10/100Mb/s Ethernet controller; ATX. Mass production to start in the third quarter.
