Do not get deceived since some smart but not really honest retailers and mainboard makers now try to sell i865P mainboards as those based on i865PE core-logic. The fact was noticed and mentioned by a Taiwanese web-site DigiTimes in China, however, I am pretty sure that the same may happen in different parts of the world as well.

It is not a secret that despite of the fact that Intel officially launches its i865P, i865PE and i865G chipsets on the 21st of May, mainboards based on the non-integrated versions of the parts appeared for sale in different stores across the world. Unfortunately, some dishonest people try to sell cheaper i865P as more expensive i865PE chipset. The difference between two is 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus support by the latter.

i865P-based mainboards sold under i865PE mark are priced at 700 Chinese Yuan ($85), whereas real i865PE powered products cost 800-900 Yuan ($97-$109), the source indicated.

In short, be careful with cheap mainboards on i865PE. They may not work stably once 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus is utilised.
