| Date: 05/10/05 09:21:40 PM]Just a couple of days have passed since ATI RADEON 9100 IGP core-logic products were announced and already now a number of mainboard makers presented their new solutions powered by the first chipset with DirectX 8.1 support.
We can now tell you the preliminary specifications of mainboards utilizing ATI RADEON 9100 IGP from ASUS, MSI. CP Technology, Gigabyte, Sapphire and Shuttle.

From the very beginning ATI Technologies will combine its RS300 North Bridge with IXP150 or IXP200 I/O controllers. Later the company will offer more advanced IXP250 chips with its RADEON 9100 IGP. According to preliminary details, the RS300 and IXP250 will cost mainboard makers about $40, however, there are indications that ATI is able to lower the pricing of its chipset to $35 level in order to successfully compete with Intel's i865G. As far as I can tell you, at this time ATI Technologies has serious plans to expand its share in the core-logic market, hence, expect its RADEON 9100 IGP to be affordable.
