Roadmap of mighty ASUSTeK Computer was retold us by a source from the mainboard community in details and now we are ready to share the information with you. There will be no massive releases this year any more, but the company will launch some interesting products this year and that definitely attracts much attention given their popularity in retail and system integrators channels.

As far as I am acquainted with ASUS’ roadmap, the company will not change its P4P800, P4C800 and PC-DL Deluxe products series this year, suggesting that all those parts, except PC-DL Deluxe, support Intel’s Prescott processors. Towards the middle of the month ASUS will start shipping its P4S400D/DX, P4V800-X and P4P800S-E DX mainboards based on SiS655FX, VIA PT800 and i848P+ICH5R chipsets respectively. ASUS P4V800D powered by VIA’s PT880 core-logic supporting dual-channel DDR SDRAM and QBM memory is set to emerge in October. Also in October, ASUS P4R800-V based on RADEON 9100 IGP is expected to begin its sales. For Systems Integrators market ASUS will offer P4R800-VM, P4S800-MX and P4BGV-MX mainboards powered by ATI RADEON 9100 IGP, SiS661 and i845GL respectively.

It definitely worth to note that all mainboards, except the last one mentioned, support 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus. This obviously means that there will be more and more Intel processors with such fast PSB and soon there will be very few Pentium 4 chips with 533MHz QPB. As a result, 533MHz PSB support becomes compulsory for platforms intended for Celeron processors, whereas 800MHz QPB seems to be a very important option for such systems.

ASUS’ mainboard lineup for AMD processors is not going to be generally renewed this year since there will not be a lot of AMD Athlon 64-series microprocessors, while the current Socket A family is perfectly suitable for every market ASUS serves. For AMD Athlon 64 CPUs ASUS will offer its K8V based on VIA K8T800 this September and K8N powered by NVIDIA CK8S (nForce3 [Pro] 250) this October or November. Especially for SIs markets, ASUS will launch K8S-V and K8A-V based on SiS760 and ALi M1688 respectively this month. Additionally, the firm will unleash its A7N8X-E Deluxe, the most robust, feature-rich and lucrative solution for Socket A processors, powered by NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 + MCP-T core-logic, providing AGP 8x, dual-channel PC3200, Dual LAN with Gigabit Ethernet support and WiFi solution. Obviously, there will be no new Socket A mainboards for SI customers this year.

Although the information is not official, it looks very reasonable and the facts mentioned above are highly possible.
