Taiwanese second core-logic designer – Silicon Integrates Systems – reported its sales results for the month ended on October 31, 2003. Revenues for October this year were lower compared to the same period last year, continuing the trend that started in September.

Monthly revenue for October was approximately $46.03 million based on the company’s preliminary estimate. This is a 13.2% decrease compared to October 2002, and a slight – roughly 1% – increase over August 2003. The 2003 year-to-date revenue is estimated at $422 million, a 13.2% increase over the same period a year ago. Sales for September 2003 were 7% down from September 2002, I reckon.

The company has not provided any details concerning the decline of its revenues to press and analysts so far. VIA Technologies, who continues to report revenue drops as well, sticks to the same policy, therefore, there is no information about the reason of such drops in sales of both Taiwanese chipset designers.

Despite of some decreases in sales, we reported this week that SiS returned to profitability in the third quarter after nearly two years of losses.
