Intel Corporation has announced a bunch of new products tailored for low-cost personal computers and aimed to deliver new functionality and performance even to entry-level personal computers.

Intel’s new chipsets, i915GV and 910GL Express, offer PCI Express, Intel High Definition Audio, and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900. Both core-logic sets support mPGA478 and LGA775 microprocessors and, unlike previous-generation value chipsets do support dual-channel memory: i915GV support DDR2 and DDR memory, i910GL sport only DDR memory. Both chipsets do not support external graphics and fully rely on integrated Intel’s GMA900 core that sports DirectX 9.0 capabilities.

Intel also announced that its previously introduced Intel Celeron D processors 325, 330, and 335 now support the LGA775 package for use with the Intel 915 Express Chipset family. Previous versions of the Intel Celeron D processors worked with the i845 and i865 chipset families.

Intel has also included new Celeron D processor 340 into the lineup of its new value processors. Celeron D 340 operate at 2.93GHz, use 533MHz processor system bus, integrate 256KB of L2 cache and support some new technologies, such as SSE3.

In 1000 unit quantities, the Intel Celeron D processor 340 is priced at $117, and the Intel 910GL chipset is priced at $34. Intel did not unveil pricing of i915GV product.
