As usually in the beginning of the month, first-tier Taiwanese mainboard manufacturers announced their revenue and shipping figures. Thanks to Asian DigiTimes web-site, which summed up all of the information, we are now able to bring the details to you with our comments.

It is clear that ASUSTeK made a significant progress in June further establishing itself as a number one mainboard manufacturer. By the way, such shipments and revenues are the all time record for the company: just notice 50% year-on-year growth in its sales! At the same time, it should be noted that average selling price (ASP) for ASUSTeK went slightly down. I think it reflects the rising shipments of ASRock subsidiary. In June ASUS also shipped 86 thousands notebooks, 440 thousands of graphics cards and 460 thousands of optical storage devices.
ECS was the only company to see its shipments declined in June. However, revenues of this manufacturer rose for about 21%, the highest figure for June ever for this firm. Analysts attribute this to fulfillment of notebook orders from Apple Computer. Note that some time ago Elitegroup exited this business, as the company sold its plant in Chungli, Taoyuan to ASUS. Thus, expect ECS’ sales to decline next month.
MSI saw slight increase of shipments for June with the corresponding revenue increase. Note the company’s substantial progress compared to previous year.
Among the leading manufacturers Gigabyte showed the most significant growth of shipments. However, revenues increased by a lower margin, thus, we can conclude ASPs drop for this company.
