Gigabyte Mainboards to Take Blood Pressure

Nowadays personal computer mainboards are capable of various things. They are able to measure CPU and case temperatures; they can monitor fan speeds and indicate HDD activity; they manage to dynamically overclock CPU and provide system-failure analysis. There is one thing no mainboard have ever been capable so far – taking blood pressure of its owner. Gigabyte is here to fix it.

Gigabyte Technology arranged a special event in Tokyo, Japan to display some of its new and exciting products during the weekend. Most of the products showcased at Gigabyte Expo in Akihabara were already well-known products demonstrated at Computex Taipei 2003 and even available for sale. However, journalist from Akiba PC Hotline have noticed a really astonishing product – Gigabyte GA-8PENXP with tonometer – the first consumer mainboard capable of taking human’s blood pressure.

According to witnesses, the mainboard is equipped with special logic as well as tonometer for taking the blood-pressure. All you need to do is wear the tonometer on your hand and push a couple of keys. You will feel your arm is being squeezed and then you will get the details concerning your pulse as well as blood pressure on the display. This seems to be a pretty interesting option for those, who suffer from high or low pressure. Surely, before using such device you should make sure it works absolutely correctly – your health may depend on it. Do not forget to consult your doctor after the purchase.

Gigabyte GA-8PENXP mainboard with tonometer is designed for Intel Socket 478 processors with 400, 533 or 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus and is based on Intel i865PE chipset with support for the Hyper-Threading technology as well as dual-channel PC3200 memory controller.
