Gigabyte Technology announced Thursday its new P4 Titan 8TRS300M mainboard based on the RADEON 9100 IGP core-logic. Nearly half a year after the first mentioning about the mainboard, Gigabyte is ready to bring its first “Powered by ATI” platform product into the market.
<%BANNER[article]%>The GA-8TRS300M is a cost-effective feature-rich solution for Intel 478-pin processors with up to 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus and the Hyper-Threading technology. Thanks to integrated RADEON 9200-class graphics core supporting DirectX 8.1 features as well as dual-monitor option, the new product from Gigabyte may be recommended to those interested in PC-based entertainment, such as DVD playback, education, or previous generation games. Because of dual-channel memory controller, the RADEON 9100 IGP – the heart of GA-8TRS300M – provides robust performance for demanding applications.
The new mainboard from Gigabyte utilizes Micro-ATX form-factor, therefore, can be mounted in compact PC cases. There are 3 PCI slots, 1 AGP 8x slot, 6 USB 2.0 ports, 2-channel Parallel ATA-33/66/100 connectors, 10/100Mb/s LAN controller, 6-channel audio and some other necessary features. Unfortunately, the novelty carries no Serial ATA-150 ports – the interconnection standard for new HDDs and future-generations of CD/DVD readers/writers.
There is no information about Intel Prescott support by the mainboard.
Pricing and actual mass availability timeframe of the P4 Titan 8TRS300M are not declared, though, it is logical to assume that such mainboards will appear sometime in January 2004.
