Intel, who said that 400MHz DDR SDRAM memory had no future less than a year ago now approves memory modules for its Springdale (i865) and Canterwood (i875P) core-logic sets during IDF show in San Jose. Samsung, Infineon, Hynix, Kingston and Elpida announced that some of their DDR400 (PC3200) memory products were validated by Intel. You can check exact models at this page of Intel’s web-site.

All memory modules that have been approved by Intel so far utilise 256Mb memory chips, are either 256 or 512MB in density and support or not support ECC. I will have to grieve all enthusiast a bit because all the modules approved by Intel by now have very moderately” programmed SPD timings. Most of them support the CAS Latency - RAS Precharge - RAS-to-CAS Delay equal to 3-4-4 or 3-3-3 what ensures stability, but affects performance in certain applications. Intel also recommends to install no more than 2 memory modules when operating at 400MHz.
