Reportedly Intel wants to acquire 10-20% stake in Elpida, or, to invest about $169 to $304 million. The Japanese number one memory maker needs additional funds to expand its manufacturing capacities, though, it is estimated that the company needs to find about $586.66 million, hence, it is not clear who is going to be the second investor, if any. The deal with Intel will be signed before the end of March 2003.
