iSuppli market research firm today released its DRAM market tracking for 2002. In general, the results published by iSuppli are pretty similar to the research of Gartner’s Dataquest published on the 19th of December 2003 in this news-story, though, there are some particular details that seem to be interesting.

Top 11 worldwide DRAM vendors according to iSuppli

The highest climbers in terms of revenue and market share in 2002 were Taiwanese DRAM manufacturers: Nanya, Windbond and Powerchip Semiconductor. The losers of the year were Elpida and Toshiba, while another Japanese DRAM maker Mitsubishi stayed flat compared to 2001.

Samsung, Micron, Infineon and Hynix, as you may see, are on the deserved top places with Infineon already a bit ahead of the struggling Korean DRAM maker.

As you see, the world’s DRAM business grew approximately 37.16% last year despite of uncertain and tough market condition; combined revenues of all memory makers involved achieved $14.854 billion annually, according to iSuppli.
