MemoryGeIL Shrinks DDR2 Latencies, Boosts DDR2 Performance.GeIL Advances DDR2 SDRAM with Lower Latency SettingsCategory: Memory by Anton Shilov [ 02/01/2005 | 01:18 PM ]
Leading memory modules maker GeIL unveiled recently its new series of DDR2 SDRAM modules with 533MHz clock-speed with reduced latencies aimed to bring exceptional performance for desktop computers powered by Intel’s latest i915- and i925X-series platform chipsets.
“The latency of DDR2 SDRAM is approaching that of DDR SDRAM, so the results of the systems with the new memory look quite pleasing now. In fact, DDR2-533 with GeIL offers 533MHz DDR2 memory modules with CL3 To guarantee high speeds amid low latency settings GeIL had to increase memory voltage to 1.95V and use special low-noise 6-layer print circuit boards. GeIL equips its 533MHz SDRAM Ultra DDR2 DIMMs with aluminum heat-spreaders. GeIL is, however, not the first company to introduce DDR2 SDRAM with reduced latencies. Companies like OCZ Technology and Corsair Memory have already introduced their DDR2 modules with latencies similar to GeIL’s. Related news
