OCZ Technology Group, a well-known supplier of memory modules for performance enthusiasts and overclockers, on Wednesday said it would expand its product portfolio with new series of modules aimed at system integrators.

The new System Elite memory sticks will be offered with mainstream speed-bins and timings, which will put them inline with typical products of the kind. However, OCZ still promises to enable its own performance-oriented features to its System Elite-series products, including ability to increase memory voltage without voiding warranty as well as advanced cooling systems.

“This new range of memory is designed to give System Builders a solution that is optimized for system stability and compatibility on the most popular Intel and AMD based platforms chosen for high performance builds,” said Alex Mei, vice president of marketing, OCZ Technology.

The first products in the System Elite series are compliant with PC2-4200 (533MHz, CL4 4-4-12), PC2-5300 (667MHz, CL5 5-5-12) and PC2-6400 (800MHz, CL5 5-5-15) standards both in terms of voltage (1.8V) and latency settings. However, all of the models will survive and will not lose warranty if the voltage is increased up to 2.0V. All of the models also use eXtreme thermal convection (XTC) heat-spreaders that optimize the thermal management of memory modules more efficiently than typical radiators, according to OCZ.

OCZ Technology already has Value-series and Performance-series in its lineup, both targeting small system integrators and price-conscious buyers. However, with the System Elite memory-series the company offers no out-of-the-box performance enhancements and fully complies with JEDEC standards, which allows it to target larger system integrators with such products.

OCZ System Elite memory modules come in 512MB and 1GB modules or in 1GB and 2GB dual-channel sets. The System Elite-series is fully backed with the company’s lifetime warranty.
