OCZ Technologies decided to offer not only fast, but also good-looking memory modules. Earlier this week the company launched Platinum Edition of its EL DDR PC3500 (DDR433) memory devices. The main feature of the products besides aggressive timings and 433MHz clock-speeds are mirrored heat-spreaders.
<%BANNER[article]%>OCZ EL DDR Platinum Edition utilise 4.5ns memory chips, OCZ’s Ultra Low Noise shielded PCBs and are available in 256MB and 512MB versions. The modules are shipped with SPD already programmed for operation in CL 2-2-2-6 mode at 433MHz, however, OCZ said its modules are capable of working in 2-2-2-5 mode as well.
No idea if mirrored heat-spreaders are better than ordinary ones, but at least such spreaders look better and even can be used as small mirrors.
Details in regards pricing and availability were not touched upon.
