Rambus announced that Samsung had signed a licensing agreement to incorporate Rambus’ Yellowstone technology into its next-generation DRAM products for use in low-cost, high-speed applications.

Yellowstone offers a quantum leap in performance in memory signalling while lowering system cost through pin-count reduction and support for low-cost, high-volume PCBs and packages according to Rambus. Yellowstone is expected to achieve data rates of 3.20 to 6.40GHz and beyond, enabling up to 100GB/s of memory system bandwidth.

There is no information about actual DRAM products incorporating technologies from Rambus. At this point I believe that Rambus has licensed the technology only to be able to use it for non-PC devices. On the other hand, Samsung may still also incorporate the Yellowstone into products intended for PCs...
