VIA Technologies launched a JEDEC specification PC3200 memory validation program in conjunction with Advanced Validation Labs (AVL) to ensure the highest level of platform level stability and performance on VIA’s range of PC3200-enabled chipsets for the Intel Pentium 4 and AMD Athlon XP processor platforms.
<%BANNER[article]%>The VIA-certified system validation involves the testing of memory modules using VIA’s PT800 and KT600 reference platform and bespoke software. The validation test process, co-developed by VIA and AVL, includes thermal testing to further stress memory modules under a demanding set of compatibility tests.
I remember that last year there were some issues with DDR400 memory modules and VIA Technologies’ chipsets, but both of components have been improving since then and there should not be any problems presently. Nevertheless, VIA wants to ensure there are really no problems, just like Intel does, due to some reason.
