OCZ Technology, who last week unveiled its DDR memory modules at 533MHz, today unveiled even more powerful RAM sticks – so-called PC4200 EL DDR devices functioning with aggressive timings at milestone 533MHz speed. As always, OCZ claims the products are available now in 256MB and 512MB modules along with 512MB and 1GB dual-channel kits.
<%BANNER[article]%>The new OCZ EL DDR PC4200 memory modules are built using OCZ’s own Ultra Low Noise shielded PCBs to allow blazingly fast 533MHz clock-speeds. In contrast to all previously available memory modules at the speeds of 533MHz, OCZ EL devices are capable of functioning at CL 2.5-4-4-7, while the OCZ OCZ PC4200 Premier Series DDR modules announced last week operate at CL 3-4-4-8, that is still a little bit better compared to GeIL’s Ultra Platinum Series 533MHz that only functions at CL 3-8-8-4.
In an attempt to make the new EL DDR PC4200 modules stable enough, OCZ had to pump up their voltage to 2.80V up from 2.60V. Note that each PC4200 EL DDR Dual Channel kit is tested and certified by OCZ on the ASUS P4C800 mainboard based on i875P core-logic.
Pricing of the OCZ EL DDR PC4200 was not disclosed at press time.
