The 48 000 square foot facility will house advanced technology DRAM module assembly and testing for a wide range of high-density, high-speed memory, including next generation DDR-II- based SDRAM modules. The exact schedule for completion of the facility as well as the number of employees hired will be dependent upon semiconductor industry market conditions. Micron currently has over 200 employees working at a temporary facility in Puerto Rico.

Micron sells memory modules to a variety of large and smaller OEMs, such as HP, IBM, Gateway, MicronPC and some others. Additionally, the company sells retail memory products for notebooks, servers, printers, routers and other electronic devices under Crucial brand.
