Corsair Announces Low-Profile Memory Modules for Enthusiasts

Corsair Memory Introduces High-Speed LP DDR3 Memory Modules

Corsair Memory on Monday introduced its first enthusiast-class memory modules in years that come in low-profile form-factor. The new modules will enable high memory performance on systems that are incompatible with modern high-end memory.


As demands of overclockers and enthusiasts grow, manufacturers of enthusiast-class memory modules install large cooling solutions and use special printed-circuit boards (PCBs) to maximize thermal performance and clock-speeds. Unfortunately, those memory modules do not fit into systems with large microprocessor coolers and cause difficulties when installed into smaller personal computers. In order to solve the problem, Corsair introduced its new Vengeance LP family of low-profile.

Vengeance LP memory features heat spreaders with a reduced height of 1.03" (26.25 millimeters), compared to the standard height of 1.87" (47.37 millimeters). These modules are designed for high-performance systems with extra-large CPU coolers, small form-factor system builds, or other space-constrained applications that prevent the use of standard Vengeance memory.

Vengeance LP 2GB and 4GB modules function at 1600MHz with CL9 9-9-24 latency settings and are are designed to operate at 1.5V; the special edition Arctic White models operate at the ultra-low voltage of 1.35V.

Vengeance LP memory kits will be available in a variety of colors, including Jet Black, Cerulean Blue,and a Special Edition Arctic White. Vengeance Low Profile memory kits will initially be available in the following configurations. All module kits are compatible with current Intel and AMD platforms.
