Liebermann, a well-known maker of high-end notebooks, announced the world’s first mobile computer with PCI Express bus and other emerging technologies. The machine is equipped with the most up-to-date hardware and may be upgraded in future.

The notebook that is branded “Hollywood Gold XPress” is based on an unknown core-logic that supports LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 processors with 800MHz or 1066MHz processor system bus, dual-channel DDR2 memory at 533MHz or 667MHz clock-speed and PCI Express graphics from ATI Technologies or NVIDIA Corp.. The mobile workstation may be equipped with 17” WSXGA+ screens with 1680x1050 or even 1920x1200 resolutions, the company said.

Like all mobile workstations from Liebermann, the Hollywood Gold XPress is equipped with the company’s advanced technologies, such as Instant On. Additionally, the notebook comes with Serial ATA HDD, DVD burner, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth connectivity and other optional interconnections.

Liebermann positions its new laptop as a solution for professionals who need a powerful computer to be wherever they are. Such computers typically work from power outlets, not from battery power, which is why Liebermann, who is also known as “L”, does not declare the time Hollywood Gold XPress can work on battery power.

The maker did not say when the Hollywood Gold XPress will be shipped, but it indicated that the notebook will be supplied to market with yet unavailable Windows XP Service Pack 2 and NVIDIA’s code-named NV41M graphics processor. The SP2 is set to ship in August, while NVIDIA’s new chip is to be released at an unknown date.

I do have a Hollywood Gold 3.4EE I bought from them about 2 months ago... it is the best laptop I have ever owned. This said, I am sure their PCI Express version will kick a.....
