Liebermann, a well-known company dealing with high-end desktops and notebooks and publicly accused of not fulfilling at least some of its promises by a number of customers in the past, said Thursday it shuts down the business due to lack of enough finances. 

“We are no longer in a position, from a financial standpoint, to continue doing business, meeting each of the high standards we have continually set for ourselves and for you, and are regrettably forced to suspend our operations and liquidate our assets in support of our financial responsibilities,” the company said in its statement.

The company said it was striving to fulfill all current orders, but were no longer accepting new purchases for any of products. Still, the firm said it was providing the technical support and software updates for current products. The firm did not indicate which company will be responsible for warranties after Lieberman ceases operations. However, the firm said it was probing possibilities to save the business.

“We are studying and exploring all possible venues to keep this venture alive and renewed. Liebermann – the company that is also referred as “L” or “Go-L” – is known for innovative computer designs. Nevertheless, the firm did not produce its products on its facilities, but acquired bare-bones or reference designs from variety of contract makers. Sometimes clients did not receive certain ordered items from Lieberman and denounced the company on web-sites.

“We have recently gone to extreme extends for a totally renewed product line of all-new desktop, small form factor, media center and proprietary laptop computers and monitors, for most of which we have finalized working prototypes only awaiting funding to enter production, including the world’s first dual-processor laptop computer based on the Intel Xeon MP and AMD Opteron architectures, the world’s first single Processor Personal Super Computer L One running at 5.0GHz with specs of cFFT - 64k 0.66 msec/ cFFT - 1024k 13.20 msec/ 1 million point Arctan2 2.63 msec/ 128K rectangular to polar 0.33 msec and capable of 16 gigaflops peak performance, and the world’s first 133 MicronUI multi-processor mainstream business Super Computer capable of over 400 gigaflops peak performance,” Liebermann said.

Liebermann was established by Miguel Liebermann, a director of commercials, in September, 2003.
