Asustek Computer, a leading maker of various computer components and notebooks, on Monday unveiled a breed of solutions supporting mobile WiMAX technology which allow to connect to the Internet in areas where WiMAX is available. The family of mobile WiMAX devices will certainly be appreciated by gadget fans in well-developed regions.

Asustek’s customer premises equipment (CPE) is based on undisclosed Intel Corp.’s silicon and belongs to either IEEE 802.16e wave 1 or waver 2 standard, (depending on the model), can support QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM adaptive modulation and can support different working frequencies. Combining the Eee PC™ with WiMAX will surely provide revolutionary and unique user experiences for everyone,” said Jonathan Tsang, vice chairman of Asustek Computer.

Even though Asus Eee PC 901 is definitely not the world’s first notebook with integrated 3G or WiMAX module, considering the price and sizes of the product, it may get rather popular among many users.
