A web-site has revealed the first images of Samsung Galaxy S III Mini as well as its specifications. The smartphone will feature 4" screen with rather low resolution by today's standard and lower-performance dual-core system-on-chip, but feature-wise it will not be too different from the full-sized brother.

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini (GT-I8190) features 4" super AMOLED display with 800*480 resolution and is based on ST-Ericsson STE U8420 (two ARM Cortex-A9 cores, ARM Mali 400 graphics adapter, LPDDR2 memory controller, integrated modem) system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz. The smartphone is equipped with 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 640*480 front camera, 1GB of random access memory, 16GB internal NAND flash storage, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, DLNA, NFC, micro USB, 3.5mm TRRS connector and so on. The device comes with 1500mAh battery as well as Google Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" operating system.

The new Galaxy S III Mini will be positioned against Apple iPhone 5 as well as various handsets from HTC, LG Electronics, ZTE and others. Thanks to premium sensors and features that seem to exist on the Galaxy S III Mini, it will likely become a popular mainstream smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will hit the market later this week and will be priced at €399 ($514) in Europe, according to MobileGeeks web-site.

Samsung did not comment on the news-story.
